Heres a sneak peek into what we’ve been living and loving this month…

We have mad love for MINI MELISSA kids shoes! Bou has a pair of the black ULTRAGIRL KITTY shoes which she has worn nonstop since we got them last year. They are literally the only footwear that we don’t argue about putting on when it comes to leaving the house at the moment. These scented rubber plastic jelly shoes are as comfy for little feet as they are practical and the velcro straps mean they’re easy for little ones to take on and off by themselves. We were given a pair of the Ultragirl Coyote shoes in a size up, so luckily we will be stepping out Mini Melissa style for another summer to come!

We were also gifted this super cute WOODEN TOY TOASTER from BAKER & MAKER who likewise sell the wooden tea party biscuits (see below). I love the durability and quality of wooden toys and go for them over their plastic equivalents any day. Bou’s big Christmas present this year was a play shop (more about this later) so she has set up her very own tea rooms selling pretend teas, coffees, toast and cakes. This little addition makes the perfect accompiamnet for dramatic tea party play.

My little sis came back from a recent trip to oz with these wicked watermelon leggings from hip kids clothing company SEED HERITAGE. If you ever happen to be across continents then checkout their range, its super cute and quirky but sadly not available here. Now all we have to do is wait for summer to arrive to bust out our fruit-tastic threads!

The ALPHABLOCK BOARD BOOK is an ABC book with both style and substance. This was one of Bou’s christmas stocking prezzies and its a real design gem but best of all, its something she can quietly read and interact with by herself. The die cut letter pages create a peek through guessing game for the entire alphabet alongside beautifully bold and graphic illustrations designed by British husband and wife team PESKIMO. Keep a lookout for its numeric counterpart, COUNTABLOCK out now.

This WOODEN TEA PARTY BISCUIT SET features everyones favourite selection including Bourbon, Custard Cream, Nice, Pink Wafer, Jammy Dodger, Party Rings plus more. The biscuits also have numericals painted on the reverse – making them perfect for learning numbers and counting games. And trust me, I need all the help I can get in that department when it comes to teaching my little one!

Now if anythings going to persuade me to embrace a little plastic fantastic in my life then it’s going to be LAPIN & ME. A mother daughter duo who search and seek out vintage toys like these adorable animal figurines, first produced in Japan during the 1970s and bought back into production to be sold exclusively through Lapin & Me. Their collection of Kitsch curiosities are highly coveted and collectable appealing to the grown ups as much as the kiddos, and it’s easy to see why!
